“A Slow Summer, A Signature Season, and Big Changes Behind the Scenes”

Summer always brings a different rhythm to the workshop. Orders slow down a bit, the Texas heat settles in, and the days stretch out — but behind the scenes at Suds in a Bucket Soap Co., things are busier than ever. This season is when the real creativity starts bubbling.
While the shop shelves look calm, my curing racks and worktables definitely don’t. Summer is my time to test, tweak, and build the products that will carry us into the rest of the year. And this time, something special has been taking shape.
The Signature Collection Is Coming
Every soapmaker has that one scent that feels like home — the one that tells a story. For me, that scent has always been our famous, Woodland Berry. It’s the bar customers recognize, the one I reach for, the one that carries a little bit of New England woods and a whole lot of nostalgia.
That bar sparked an idea I’ve been quietly working on this summer: a curated Signature Collection built around the scents that feel timeless, personal, and true to the heart of my brand.
This won’t be a huge lineup. It’s intentionally small, intentionally meaningful — a collection of scents that feel like me.
Behind the Scenes: What’s Been Happening in the Workshop
Even though summer is slower on the sales side, it’s one of my busiest seasons creatively. Lately, my workshop has been filled with:
Signature‑worthy blends being tested and refined
Small‑batch recipe testing to perfect each bar before it earns its place
New vintage‑inspired label artwork created exclusively for the Signature Collection
A unified rustic‑apothecary look that ties every bar together
And beyond soap, there’s even more happening:
New heat‑stable body butter formulas designed to survive Texas summers
Bubble scoops in new scents and improved textures
Bubble crumbles for customers who love scoops but want sprinkle‑ready fun
Quad‑butter soap experiments that are turning out beautifully rich
A full label revamp after dealing with adhesion issues — every product is getting a fresh, vintage‑inspired redesign
It’s been a season of problem‑solving, experimenting, and rebuilding — and honestly, it feels good.

Why Summer Matters for Handmade Products
Handmade soap and skincare take time — weeks of curing, testing, adjusting, and reworking. Summer gives me the breathing room to experiment without the holiday rush. It’s when I get to be a maker again, not just a shipper and packer.
What Makes a Soap “Signature”
A Signature Collection bar has to earn its place. It must be:
A scent I personally love
A blend that reflects my roots and my brand
A bar that feels timeless, not seasonal
A soap I’d proudly keep year‑round
These aren’t trend scents. They’re identity scents.
What’s Coming Next
Over the next few weeks, I’ll be sharing sneak peeks, scent notes, and the stories behind each bar in the Signature Collection. Woodland Berry will lead the way, with a few carefully chosen companions joining it soon.
The first run will be small — handmade, slow‑cured, and worth the wait.
Thank you for being here through every season, busy or slow. Your support lets me keep creating the products you love, one small batch at a time. Love always, Jodie
